Now, Government banks are ready to open an account without identity card
RBI is supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi Plan is all the possible ways. RBI directed to all the banks that, if any Govt. ID card is not available they should not refuse to open the bank account. Banks need to open the account with the limited rights of such persons. In this way, only ten thousand rupees can be withdraw a month.
Under this campaign, the public will be informed of their rights to open their bank account. The accounts will be opened by the central banks & state owned banks. Central bank instructed, if there is no Identification Card given by the government, then the person can directly open the account on the basis of his/her thumb impression. But the accounts of this class will be limited to the banks customer rights. For instance, more than fifty thousand will not be allowed to keep in bank account at a time & customer will not be eligible to take a loan of more than one lakh in a year. But, if the customers want then, their bank account can be turned into the normal bank account by presenting the photo attested by gazetted officer or ID card issued by the government of India.
About 40 percent of the people don`t have any identity, & without Identification it is quite difficult to open their bank account. The biggest problem to open the account is the KYC rules, but this initiative of RBI will help to encourage the public to open their account.
